CloudFile runs file transfer servers for you. You create a server, add users and hand out credentials. We run, patch and monitor everything behind it.
What you get
- Managed servers. Each server is isolated, with its own users, settings and connection details.
- Three protocols. SFTP (recommended), FTPS and plain FTP for legacy systems. Toggle each per server.
- Users with boundaries. Every user is locked into their own home folder, with their own permissions and storage quota.
- Passwords or SSH keys. We generate a strong password, you can add any number of public keys, or require both.
- Event listeners. Get a signed webhook or an email when files are uploaded, downloaded, deleted or renamed.
- Object storage. Files are stored encrypted in S3-compatible storage in the region you choose.
How it fits together
A server (also called an instance) is what your partners connect to. It has a host name and a port. A user is a login on that server. Storage on your plan is shared across all servers, and you decide how much each user gets.
Event listeners watch a server for file activity and notify you, so your systems can process files the moment they arrive.
Next steps
- Quickstart: create your first server and upload a file.
