1. Create an account
Sign up with your email. Your account starts with a 7-day trial of the Startup plan. No credit card is needed.
2. Create a server
In the dashboard, open Instances and click New instance. Pick a location close to the people who will connect, give the server a name and click Create SFTP instance.
The server is ready after a few seconds. Its status changes from Provisioning to Running.
3. Add a user
Open the server and go to the Users tab. Click Add user and fill in:
- Username: 3 to 32 characters, lowercase letters, numbers, dots, dashes or underscores.
- Login method: password, SSH key, or both.
- Storage quota: how much of your plan’s storage this user may use.
- Permissions: pick a preset (full access, read only, upload only) or choose individual permissions.
When you save, the connection details and the generated password are shown once. Copy the password now. You can reset it later, but you can’t view it again.
4. Upload a file
Use the host and port from the Overview tab:
sftp -P 22000 [email protected]
sftp> put invoices.csv
The upload appears in Recent activity on the server’s overview.
