Questions about switching from Couchdrop.
Does CloudFile connect to SharePoint or Google Drive?
No. CloudFile stores files in its own storage or in any S3-compatible bucket, including Google Cloud Storage. If your files must end up in SharePoint or Drive, Couchdrop is the better fit.
Is data transfer included?
Yes. Transfers are not metered on any plan, within fair use. If you use your own bucket, your provider may charge for egress.
Can I trigger my own code when a file arrives?
Yes. Add an event listener with your URL. We send a signed POST with the path, user and a download link valid for an hour, and retry with backoff if your endpoint fails.
Where is my data stored?
Servers and the default storage are in Germany. With your own bucket, files stay wherever that bucket is.

sftpcloud and CloudFile both give you hosted SFTP and FTP servers with your own storage behind them. CloudFile starts cheaper, doesn't cap SFTP users above Starter, and lets you automate everything over a REST API.
