A Files.com alternative from €19 a month, not $199
Files.com is a large managed file transfer platform with AS2, dozens of integrations and enterprise compliance, from $199 a month. CloudFile is the simpler option: SFTP, FTPS, FTP and WebDAV servers on included storage or your own bucket, with flat prices and hosting in Germany.

Why teams switch from Files.com.
From €19 a month
Starter is €19 with 10 SFTP users, Pro €59 with 5 servers and unlimited users. Every price is on the website.
No per-seat billing
Team members are free on every plan, and from Pro up SFTP users are unlimited. The price only changes when you add servers or storage.
Transfers aren't metered
Uploads and downloads don't eat into a monthly storage-plus-transfer allowance. A big partner upload doesn't cost extra, within fair use.
Hosted in Germany
Servers, files and the dashboard database run in Germany on every plan, including the cheapest.
Port 22 and your domain on Pro
A dedicated IP with ports 22 and 21 and your own domain come with Pro at €59 a month.
Small enough to learn in an hour
Create a server, add users and point a webhook at your API. Everything is also available over a REST API with an OpenAPI spec.
When Files.com is the better choice.
You need SOC 2 Type II reports, a HIPAA BAA, or other compliance paperwork your auditors ask for.
You exchange EDI over AS2, or need GPG encryption as part of the transfer.
Files must move between many systems such as SharePoint, Box, Dropbox or other SFTP servers, with scheduled automations and sync.
Users must sign in with SSO/SAML, or your data has to stay in a region outside the EU.
Questions about switching from Files.com.
How much does Files.com cost compared with CloudFile?
Files.com Starter is $199 a month ($2,099 a year) and Power $499 a month, with extra users and transfer billed on top. CloudFile is €19 / €59 / €179 a month (Starter / Pro / Business), excl. VAT, and yearly billing gives two months free.
Does CloudFile support AS2 or SSO?
No. CloudFile supports SFTP, FTPS, FTP and WebDAV, and team members sign in with email and password or Google, with optional 2FA. If you need AS2 or SAML SSO, Files.com is the better fit.
Can I keep my files in my own S3 bucket?
Yes, on every plan. Connect any S3-compatible bucket, such as Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Wasabi or Hetzner, or Azure Blob Storage. Each SFTP user gets their own folder in it.
How do I get notified when a partner uploads a file?
Add an event listener. On every matching upload, rename or delete we send an HMAC-signed webhook with a presigned download link, an email, or a Slack, Discord or Teams message.

How CloudFile compares with other options.
vs
sftpcloud alternative
sftpcloud and CloudFile both give you hosted SFTP and FTP servers with your own storage behind them. CloudFile starts cheaper, doesn't cap SFTP users above Starter, and lets you automate everything over a REST API.
Comparevs
AWS Transfer Family alternative
AWS Transfer Family is solid, but an SFTP endpoint costs $0.30 an hour for each enabled protocol, around $216 a month before any data moves. CloudFile gives you SFTP, FTPS and FTP for a flat monthly price, and can still write straight into your S3 bucket.
Comparevs

Couchdrop alternative
Couchdrop connects SFTP to SharePoint, Google Drive and many other systems, with prices on request above its first plan. CloudFile does one thing: SFTP, FTPS and FTP servers on S3-compatible storage, with every price on the website and no transfer metering.
Comparevs
DocEvent.io alternative
DocEvent.io puts SFTP, FTPS and FTP in front of your own bucket, priced per user with a small monthly transfer allowance. CloudFile has a flat price per plan, doesn't meter transfers, and can store the files for you or in your bucket.
